Newquay Leos Club

As the youngest members of Lions Clubs International, Leos embody the best qualities of our incredible organization. They are devoted young people who realize the power of action. Together, Leos and Lions form a powerful partnership—one of mutual respect, where Lions learn from the innovative insights of Leos, and where Leos gain access to the proven strategies of those who’ve successfully served the world for decades.

Leo Clubs are a youth organization of Lions Clubs International. The word “Leo” stands for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity. Leo clubs encourage youths to develop leadership qualities by participating in social service activities. They are dependent on a Lions club to sponsor and initiate a Leo club.

Newquay Lions sponsor Treviglas Leo Club, based at Treviglas Academy. There has been a Treviglas Leo Club at the school for 6 years now.

The members are in the 6th form, year 12/13.  The present Leo group have 12 members, they are very enthusiastic, a great group of young people.  Recently they have organised a litter pick along Wildflower Lane, around Trenance Park and along the footpath next to their school.  They are also carrying out a £20 challenge given to them by Newquay Lions. They have formed three groups and are raising money for various charities using the £20 for initial expenses. By the end of March they will have raised around £400.
